In this repair a multi-layer aluminum/epoxy doubler has been approved for the topside fin support of F16. The Zimac hot bonder and heater cells are used for the cure; cells adhere to both the underside of the aircraft skin and to the 479 bulkhead. The silane, epoxy primer and aluminum doubler were all cured using a single cell set up. All cells providing the heat were located out of the way on the underside of the structure while the repair was carried out on top.
